Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a professional medical degree programme that trains students to become medical doctors. The programme covers pre-clinical sciences (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology), clinical sciences (internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, radiology, anesthesiology), and community health. Students complete extensive clinical rotations at teaching hospitals including Muhimbili National Hospital, Bugando Medical Centre, Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), and regional referral hospitals. The programme emphasizes evidence-based medicine, patient-centered care, medical ethics, and research methodology.
